Uttarakhand / Dehradun: The daughter had accused the father of rape at the instigation of her boyfriend, the father was acquitted after 5 years
A special POCSO court acquitted a 42-year-old man. He was accused of raping his 15-year-old daughter. He was serving a jail sentence for the last five years. The man had opposed his daughter’s relationship with her boyfriend. After this, at the behest of the girl’s boyfriend, she falsely accused the father of rape. After examining the evidence and hearing the witnesses, the court found the man innocent.
On December 25, 2019, the police registered a case on the complaint of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). The committee members had said that the girl had told them about sexual abuse by her father. Her younger sister also supported the allegations. The man, who works as a laundryman in Dehradun, was arrested on December 27 and sent to jail. During the investigation, the police recovered some letters written by the girl to her boyfriend. During interrogation, she confessed that she was in love with a boy who instigated her to file a false complaint with the CWC.
Medical test did not confirm rape
The girl also admitted that she was upset with her father as he did not agree with her relationship with the boy and she did not go to school. During the trial, the doctor told the court that her medical report was negative and it could not be confirmed whether she was raped. After reviewing the evidence, the court declared the man innocent and issued an order of acquittal last week.
