Uttarakhand: BJP Mandal President accused of raping a minor girl, police registered a case
In Almora district’s Salt development block, the BJP Mandal President has been accused of threatening the victim’s family for the last five days after raping a minor girl who had gone to graze goats. The Revenue Police has registered a case against the accused under BNS 74 and POCSO Act.
In the complaint given to the Revenue Police, the minor’s family has said that on Saturday, their minor daughter had gone to graze goats with her two brothers. Then Bhagwat Singh Bora, a resident of Dangula, reached there and tried to send the girl’s brothers away from there by giving them chocolates. Getting the opportunity, the accused raped the minor and fled from there after some time.
The victim informed her family about this over the phone. The family reached the spot and brought her home but the accused kept threatening the victim’s family not to complain and to compromise after the incident.
On Friday, the victim’s family gathered courage and reached the revenue area Devyal. Where they gave a complaint about the rape of their minor daughter. After receiving the complaint, the revenue police has registered a case against the accused under section 74 (BNS) and POCSO Act.
The victim has been taken to CHC Devyal for medical. Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar said that a case of rape of a minor has come to light. In this case, the revenue police has registered a case under POCSO and other sections. The victim is being medically examined. Investigation of the case has also been started. The accused will also be arrested soon.
