Uttarakhand: DGP inspected the Haridwar jewellery showroom robbery site, gave assurance to the showroom owner

Uttarakhand DGP Abhinav Kumar reached the showroom of Shri Balaji Jewelers in Haridwar late on Tuesday evening where a robbery took place on September 1. The DGP talked to the showroom owner and assured him that the incident will be disclosed soon and the stolen goods will be recovered. He said that the police is doing its work. Soon the accused will be behind bars.
Speaking to the media after meeting the owner of Shri Balaji Jewelers, DGP Abhinav Kumar said that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself has expressed concern over the robbery incident. And has asked to sort out this incident as soon as possible. He said that a special team has been engaged by us in this. We hope that soon we will disclose this incident and also recover the stolen goods.
The DGP said that it would not be wrong to say that this is really a big incident. But we have to learn a lesson from this and work will be done on how to control these crimes in the coming time. He said that Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Dehradun districts are districts connected to the surrounding state. In such a situation, people with criminal tendencies from other states also come to these districts. But it is also clear that such incidents will neither be tolerated in Uttarakhand nor will they be allowed to happen again in the future.
SOP will be made
Abhinav Kumar said that we are going to make SOP again regarding bullion traders, in which decisions will be taken keeping in mind the technology as well as the bullion trader’s shop. Because at many places the road is very big and at some places bullion traders are present right in the streets. In such a situation, we will have to prepare a new SOP.
