From here, Durga idol immersion procession was being taken out from the locality of a particular community. During this, there was an altercation between the two communities over playing DJ. Bahraich DM Monica Rani has given a big statement saying that the police is trying to control the violence. Internet has been shut down in the violence-affected area.
CM Yogi held a meeting on the matter
In the Bahraich case, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has held a meeting with the top officials of the state. In this meeting, he has given strict instructions to the officials to take strict action against the culprits. After the violence took place, the administration stopped the idol immersion program. But CM Yogi has ordered to restart the idol immersion program.
People pelted stones from the roofs
The matter turned into a violent clash in no time. According to media reports, some people started pelting stones from the roofs and firing also started when opposed. In the case, a youth named Ramgopal Mishra has been shot and died. While more than a dozen people are injured.
FIR lodged against 30 people
As soon as the news of the death of the youth spread, there was a stir in the entire district. People took to the streets and started protesting. Police had to use force to control the crowd. SP Vrinda Shukla has also taken action against two police personnel. Mahsi outpost in-charge and police station in-charge have been suspended. FIR was lodged against about 30 people and they have been taken into custody.
