Uttar Pradesh: In Shahjahanpur, a BBA student plotted his own kidnapping for money, this is how UP police exposed him

A shocking incident of kidnapping conspiracy has come to light in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. In this case, the police have arrested a student, who had staged his kidnapping to extort money from his family. The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Sanjeev Tyagi, who hails from Katra town of the district. Police has also arrested two of his accomplices while exposing this conspiracy.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh S said that BBA student Sanjeev Tyagi had left home last Monday saying that he was going to Bareilly to collect his marksheet. He did not return home till late evening. But the same night his mother received a WhatsApp call, in which it was told that her son has been kidnapped. A ransom of Rs 2 lakh was demanded for his release. The caller also threatened to kill if the money was not paid.

The SP said that as soon as the information about the kidnapping was received, Sanjeev Tyagi’s family informed the local police station. After this, the police started investigation by registering a case in this matter. A special police team was formed for this. After this, Sanjeev’s family was instructed to take the ransom money to a place near the Bahgul river as per the instructions of the kidnappers. The police team was also present.

When Sanjeev’s family reached that place, two people came to take the money. The police caught them as soon as they saw them. They have been identified as Mangesh Kumar and Gurusan Singh. Both of them told the whole conspiracy during interrogation. They revealed that they are Sanjeev’s friends. He himself had plotted his kidnapping. He had planned to use the ransom money to fulfill his personal needs.

Let us tell you that a similar case was also seen in Amroha district. Here a young man struggling with financial crisis hatched a conspiracy to kidnap himself. The name of the accused was Nazim. His closest friend Amit also fully supported him in this conspiracy. Both of them together executed this drama so cleanly that the police had to take immediate action in this case. Amit tied Nazim’s hands and feet.

After this, his video was made and sent to his family and a ransom of Rs 25 lakh was demanded. After this, the family informed the police. The police formed three teams and with the help of the surveillance team, caught Nazim and his friend Amit within just eight hours. When both of them were interrogated, the whole matter was revealed.
