Uttarakhand: CM Dhami provided appointment letters to 108 assistant professors selected in 05 subjects

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat gave appointment letters to 108 Assistant Professors selected in 05 subjects at Mukhya Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. On Tuesday, appointment letters were given to the candidates of Hindi, Chemistry, Geography, Zoology and Political Science.

The Chief Minister congratulated all the selected candidates and said that this gift received on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras will definitely spread the light of happiness in your life. This day of success in your life has come only because of hard work, dedication and perseverance. He said that teaching is not an ordinary task but a big responsibility. Especially higher education is a major means of carving human resources because higher education works to give the right direction to the youth power. The Chief Minister said that in the last three years, about 18 thousand 500 youth of the state have been provided government jobs. The recruitment process is going on continuously going forward.

The Chief Minister said that the government is continuously working to make Uttarakhand the best state in the country. The education system and infrastructure of the state are being strengthened. The infrastructure is being developed continuously in government colleges and universities. 20 model colleges are being established and women hostels and examination buildings, including IT labs, are also being constructed. On one hand, scholarships are being given to meritorious students every month and research grants of up to Rs 18 lakh are being given to professors to promote research, while under the Gaurav Yojana, a target has been set to provide three-tier training in banking and finance to students studying in higher educational institutions of the state and placement of 5000 students. We have signed an agreement with the Deputy High Commissioner of Britain for the Chevening Uttarakhand Scholarship, under which 5 students will be sent to Britain for a master’s degree. An agreement was also signed with Infosys Springboard to conduct various computer-based modern courses in higher educational institutions of the state. An incentive amount of Rs 50,000 is being provided to the youth taking admission in the 100 NIRF top ranked institutions of the country.

Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat while congratulating all the selected candidates said that 100 percent faculty has been provided in higher education in the state. In which 82 percent are regular faculty and the rest are working as guest faculty. In the last seven years, buildings of 51 colleges were built in the state. 06 colleges will get their buildings soon. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, continuous work is being done for the upgradation of higher education. Under his leadership, 05 new campuses have been built in the state. 26 new degree colleges have been built. Out of 118 degree colleges in the state, 70 colleges have NAAC. By March 2025, 100 percent degree colleges will have NAAC.

On this occasion, Vice President of Higher Education Upgradation Committee Dr. Devendra Bhasin, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Pankaj Pandey, Additional Secretary Dr. Ashish Srivastava, Director Higher Education Dr. Anju Aggarwal, Director General UCOST Prof. Durgesh Pant were present.
