Uttarakhand / Dehradun: 14-year-old girl drowned in Tons river, had gone for a walk with a friend, search operation continues
A major accident took place on Friday, November 1 in Kalsi police station area of Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Here a 14-year-old girl drowned in the Tons river. It is being told that the girl had gone out for a walk with her friends, when this accident happened.
According to Kalsi police station in-charge Bhuvanchandra Pujari, the police received information about the drowning of the girl at around 3 pm on Friday afternoon. As soon as the information was received, the local police and SDRF team reached the spot. The team reached the spot and started the rescue operation. However, till late evening, nothing could be found about the girl.
According to Kalsi police station in-charge Bhuvanchandra Pujari, the name of the girl who drowned in the Tons river is Neha Shahi, daughter of Hemraj Shahi, resident of Rajawala, who was going to Sahastradhara temple Himachal by crossing the Tons river in Kalsi area with her 6 companions. But while crossing the Tons river, her foot slipped, due to which she drowned in the strong current of the river water and went missing.
Rescue operation was carried out till late Friday evening in search of the girl, but when nothing could be found about the girl, the search operation was stopped due to darkness. The search operation will be started again on Saturday morning.
