Uttarakhand: High speed is taking lives of youth in Dehradun, 16 died in 6 months
The accident that happened in Dehradun on Monday night has shaken people. Whoever heard about it was shocked. In this accident, the lights of six houses were extinguished simultaneously. Speeding is believed to be the reason for this accident. In the last six months, about 16 youths have died due to speeding in the capital Dehradun.
Speed taking lives of youths in Dehradun
Youngsters from not only the state but from all over the country come to Dehradun to shape their future. But for some time now, the number of accidents due to vehicles speeding on the city roads is increasing. The number of youths losing their lives in these accidents is also increasing. Six youths died in the tragic accident that happened on Monday. The police believes that speeding is the reason for this accident. If we look at the statistics of the last six months, 16 youths have died in road accidents in Dehradun in six months.
Most of the youths are becoming victims of accidents
Youngsters are becoming victims of most of the road accidents happening in Dehradun. Accidents due to high speed in Doon are not only taking the lives of car riders but two-wheeler riders are also falling prey to it. If we talk about the accidents that have happened so far, most of the victims were youngsters. These youngsters were those who were pursuing higher education or were preparing for a new beginning of life with a job after studies. Along with this, it has also been observed that these accidents happen more in places where there are more educational institutions.
16 people died in road accidents in 6 months
- On the night of May 4, the car of the youngsters returning from Mussoorie met with an accident on Jhadipani road. The car went out of control and fell into the ditch. In this accident, five students died while one was seriously injured.
- On May 19, some youngsters were returning from Mussoorie after a trip. On their way back, the youngsters went to Shikhar Fall. Where their car fell into the ditch. In this accident, a young man and a young woman died. While three were injured.
- On 13th September, the car of some youths returning from Mussoorie fell into a ditch on Doon road near Mussoorie. Two youths died in this accident while four were injured.
- On 27th September, a private factory worker returning from his duty late at night near IIP Mohkampur was hit by an unknown speeding vehicle. The youth died in this accident.
- On 9th September, a speeding vehicle hit a person riding a bicycle on Haridwar highway. The cyclist died in this accident.
