Sunita Williams’ safety at risk, International Space Center has cracks in 50 places

Now NASA has also become tense about the International Space Station (ISS). This is because there was leakage in the ISS for the last five years, but recently it has come to light that there is a problem of leakage in at least 50 places. Not only this, cracks are also appearing in the ISS. An investigation report of NASA has come out, which has revealed that there is a danger looming over the ISS. Due to this, the lives of the astronauts here, including Sunita Williams, are in danger.

Air pressure is rapidly decreasing in ISS
According to the information, air and pressure in the ISS is now leaking rapidly. This is the same air and pressure that is necessary for the astronauts to stay alive. Not only this, usually 7 to 10 astronauts are present here at any time. At this time, Sunita Williams of Indian origin is also present here along with the rest of the astronauts. However, information about the leak in this space station as big as a football field was received in 2019 itself, but now it has increased a lot and the situation can be dangerous.

Leakage is happening in the Russian section
The space station has American and Russian sections. These two sections are separate but are also connected to each other. The leak has happened in the Russian section but NASA and Roscosmos do not agree about it. In 2019, a leak was seen in the canal connecting the Russian module Zvezda to the docking port where cargo and supplies come. But now it has increased a lot. Now the astronauts present there are trying to fix it.

It was asked to seal these cracks
NASA believes that due to this leak, Zvezda can fail completely but Russia Roscosmos does not believe so. At present, it has been asked to keep these cracks sealed and it has been advised to open them only when absolutely necessary.

Sunita Williams has been present in the ISS since June 2024
Sunita Williams has been present on the ISS since June 2024 because there has been some problem with her Boeing Starliner. Due to this, she and her partner are facing difficulties in returning. After this, it is expected that she will return to Earth in February 2025 aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon.
