Uttarakhand: Voting continues for Kedarnath by-election, people are capturing the fate of 6 candidates in EVM, strong security arrangements, results will come on 23rd
Voting is going on today for the Kedarnath assembly by-election. In this by-election, a total of 6 candidates including Asha Nautiyal from BJP, Manoj Rawat from Congress, Dr. Ashutosh Bhandari from UKD, apart from independents Tribhuvan Chauhan, RP Singh and Pradeep Rohan Rudhiya are trying their luck, in which there is a direct contest between BJP and Congress. According to Assistant District Election Officer Dheeraj Kumar, there are a total of 90875 voters in the Kedarnath by-election and 173 polling booths have been set up for voting. Although both BJP and Congress parties are claiming victory since the campaign, but which party the public votes more to, it will be clear on November 23 when the results of this by-election will come out. At present, voting is going on since morning and this seat remains special for both Congress and BJP, on which both the parties have claimed victory.
CM also had to put in all his strength
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also left no stone unturned to put in all his strength to turn the by-election in favor of BJP. Decisions ranging from special packages for the disaster affected to the approval of schemes related to the development of the assembly constituency were taken quickly. He repeatedly reached out to the people of Kedarnath even before the announcement of the election and camped there on the last day of campaigning.
A question of ideology and prestige for the BJP
The by-election is not just an assembly seat. On this seat, not just the prestige of the ruling BJP in the state, but also its ideology is at stake. After the defeat in Badrinath, it had to go on the defensive on the ideological front. The party does not want to let such an uncomfortable situation arise again, so the party had put the strategists of election management in the field about three months before the formal announcement of the by-election. Maximum time has passed since the campaigning of young minister Saurabh Bahuguna and state general secretary Aditya Kothari along with MLA Bharat Chaudhary ended there.
The real test of Aishwarya and Kuldeep Rawat’s career too
The BJP is expecting more votes through Aishwarya from the areas from where the late MLA Shailrani has been getting good votes. However, the Kedarnath by-election is a real test not only for the BJP-Congress but also for the careers of Aishwarya and Kuldeep Rawat, who are trying to build their political future from here. There is no doubt that the result of the Kedarnath by-election will decide the future role of these two leaders, discussions have started about this.
