After the Air Force, now the Territorial Army has also demanded its dues from the Uttarakhand government, the liability is Rs 146 crore
After the Indian Air Force, now the Territorial Army has also demanded the dues of Rs 146 crore of the Eco Task Force from the state government. This is the dues of the last 10 years, which has not been paid yet. Territorial Army Director General Lieutenant General Raju Baijal has written a letter to Chief Secretary Radha Raturi in this regard.
Four companies of the Ecology Task Force are deployed in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of the state. These four companies incur an annual expenditure of Rs 21 crore. Till June, an amount of Rs 146.16 crore is pending on the government. In the letter, the state government has been requested to make a phased repayment plan. In the letter, it was suggested to increase the average repayment per year from the current Rs 8.22 crore to Rs 21 crore.
Let us tell you that the Indian Air Force has also demanded the pending dues in lieu of the help of helicopters in natural disasters since the formation of the state. Considering the limited resources of the state, the outstanding amount of Rs 213 crore of the Air Force is also considered to be quite large. If the liability of the Territorial Army is added, this amount becomes even bigger. This is the reason why Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal has already said about the pending amount that a waiver will be sought from the Central Government. Discussions are also going on at the government level regarding the outstanding amount.
The concerned departments have been asked to examine the bills regarding the amount of the Indian Air Force. The matter of the liability of the Eco Task Force has also come to notice. The Forest Department will examine it.
