Uttarakhand: Municipal elections will be held soon in the state, BJP has geared up, appointed election in-charges, see the list

The ruling BJP in the state has geared up for the civic elections. The party has appointed in-charges for election management in a total of 102 bodies including 11 municipal corporations. In the next phase, as soon as the reservation in the bodies is decided, the party will appoint 30 more teams of three-member observers.

According to BJP’s state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan, on the instructions of state president Mahendra Bhatt, state general secretary Aditya Kothari has released the list of election in-charges. Under this, election in-charges have been appointed in 11 municipal corporations, 45 municipal councils and 46 nagar panchayats.

Decision on reservation in two-three days

According to party sources, the decision on reservation in the bodies can be taken in two-three days. The party is expecting the announcement of civic elections in the second fortnight of this month. In view of this possibility, the party has announced election in-charges. All in-charges have been instructed to take responsibility for election management in their respective bodies. Observers for municipalities and nagar panchayats will be deployed at the district level. Three-member supervisors will be appointed in 19 organizational districts. Party MLAs and senior leaders will be included in these teams.
