Uttarakhand: PRD Foundation Day in Dehradun, Cabinet Minister made several announcements, assured help in marriage of daughters

The foundation day of the Provincial Guard (PRD) was celebrated on Wednesday. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya also made several announcements for the PRD jawans. In which the government will help 50 thousand rupees for the marriage of the daughters of PRD jawans, and vocational training to PRD jawans on retirement was talked about.

PRD Foundation Day was celebrated with great pomp at Youth Welfare Directorate Ground Nanurkheda. Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, who reached the event of the Riti Parade, first inspected the parade by riding in an open vehicle. After this, the parade saluted the Cabinet Minister while walking fast in front of the stage. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya said that earlier the Foundation Day of the Provincial Guard was not celebrated regularly, but under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, our government decided from 2022 that the Foundation Day will be celebrated every year. From the stage itself, he instructed the officials of the department to organize the Foundation Day in every district. He said whether it is elections or Char Dham Yatra, or there is a problem of law and order, PRD jawans have participated enthusiastically everywhere.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya also provided cheques of up to Rs 1.5 lakh to the dependents of the deceased and injured PRD jawans in various incidents. A total amount of Rs 15 lakh was distributed in this item. On this occasion, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau said that the tenure of departmental minister Rekha Arya has been historic for PRD jawans. He hopes that she will take big decisions in the interest of the jawans in future too. On this occasion, Special Principal Secretary Amit Sinha discussed the facilities available to PRD jawans in the amended Act.

Injured PRD jawan shares his experiences in Vanbhoomipura

On the occasion of Foundation Day, the Cabinet Minister provided cheques of assistance amount of Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh to the dependents of the deceased jawans who sacrificed their lives in various incidents. Apart from these, cheques of assistance amount of Rs 50,000 each were also given to the jawans injured in various incidents. Those who received help included Puja Thapa, Darshani Devi, Meena Devi, Vikra Devi, Suman Devi, Rajni Devi, Lalit Singh, Parvati Devi, Rajendra Prasad, Harish Chand, Gautam, Suresh Manwal, Gagandeep Singh and Renu. Gagandeep Singh, who was injured in the communal violence in Haldwani Banbhulpura, spoke to ETV Bharat. He said that PRD jawans always stand shoulder to shoulder with the police. He said that when violence broke out in Haldwani, he was also deployed there. He became a victim of heavy stone pelting and violence.
