Uttarakhand: Congress attacks BJP’s manifesto for civic elections, accuses it of cheating the public
BJP has released the manifesto for 11 municipal corporations in the civic elections in Uttarakhand. Congress has targeted BJP’s manifesto. Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni said that this is the first time that BJP has had to release a manifesto for civic elections. She said that the manifesto that BJP has presented before the people of the state does not contain any announcement related to civic bodies.
Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni alleged that in this Sankalp Patra, issues like spit jihad, land jihad have been raised. Which has nothing to do with the common people. She said that civic bodies play an important role in improving the lives of the common people. She said that BJP’s condition has become weak in civic elections, so BJP has to adopt the policy of saam, daam, dand, bhed. Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni said that the condition of all municipal corporations is bad during BJP rule. Dehradun Municipal Corporation is the only area which has been included under Smart City. Crores of rupees were sent from the centre for smart city, but if you look around, the common people have not got any facility in the name of smart city.
Congress alleges that crimes against women are happening in broad daylight, murders are taking place, but the city is not equipped with CCTV cameras in sufficient quantity. Similarly, the condition of street lights in the city is bad. The roads are dug up. There is no proper arrangement for prevention of dengue. There is no talk of green plantation in the city. The whole city is turning into a concrete jungle.
Congress has also attacked BJP on the issue of drug addiction. Congress says that BJP has been ruling the municipal corporation for the last 15 years, but in these 15 years the conditions have gone from bad to worse. That is why people have now started talking about returning the old Dehradun to BJP. In this situation, if BJP is releasing its Sankalp Patra or Vision Document, it has nothing to do with the common people.
