National Games 2025: 5700 players registered on GMS portal, golf out of the list, uncertainty remains on 3 games
So far 5700 players have registered in 30 games on the GMS portal of Uttarakhand National Games starting from 28 January. Golf has been excluded from the National Games, while there is confusion over three other games as well.
Only 12 days are left for the 38th National Games to start in Uttarakhand from January 28, while the Game Management System portal of the National Games has now been closed for the State Olympic Association. According to the latest update, 5700 players have registered in 30 different games on the GMS portal of the 38th National Games. Out of these, about 700 players from Uttarakhand have made their entry on the GMS portal.
GMS portal closed for State Olympic Association
Uttarakhand Olympic Association President Mahesh said that the GMS portal of the National Games has now been closed for the State Olympic Association, while the National Federation will register itself for the entry of players in the remaining games. The portals will remain open for them.
The situation is expected to be clear on January 18
The Uttarakhand Olympic Association says that Uttarakhand has made preparations as per the expectations of 10,000 players, 2000 technicians and 2000 officials, i.e. a total of 14000 people and it is expected that the situation will be clear by January 18.
Green signal given to 30 games
Amit Sinha, Special Principal Secretary of Uttarakhand Sports Department, said that so far 30 games have been given the green signal in the National Games where DOC i.e. Director and Competition has given its final report. After this, the Olympic Organization has also given the green signal to volleyball and handball under its special provision.
Golf removed from the list
Out of the remaining four games, golf has been removed from the list of National Games because there is a dispute going on in the Central Federation of Golf, while apart from this, the case of Taekwondo is also in the court. However, no clear guidelines have been received on this yet. Apart from this, discussions are going on continuously regarding the two demonstration games, Malkham and Yogasana, and as soon as something is finalized in this, information will be given about it.
