Uttarakhand: Counting of votes continues at 54 centers, Congress’s Hema Pant won the election for the post of Municipal President in Berinag, BJP’s Govind Verma became the Municipal President in Lohaghat

Hema Pant of Congress has won the election for the post of president in Berinag Nagar Palika of Pithoragarh district. Hema Pant is the wife of Congress leader and outgoing Nagar Palika president Hem Pant. There was a tough competition from independents in this seat.

Out of 46 Nagar Palika president posts in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 5 seats. BJP has won one seat. Congress is leading on 3 seats and independents are leading on 2 seats. On the other hand, BJP is leading on 3 seats and has won on two seats out of 43 Nagar Panchayat president posts. On the other hand, Congress has not opened its account on Nagar Panchayat president post and independent candidates are leading on 2 seats.

Out of 540 Nagar Nigam councilor posts in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 29 seats, while it has won on 7. On the other hand, National Congress is leading on two seats and independents are leading on 3 seats. On the other hand, independent candidates have won on 7 seats. There are a total of 444 seats in Nagar Palika Parishad, out of which independents are leading on 44 seats and have won 18 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 21 seats and has won 9 seats. Congress has won one seat. Counting is going on for 298 Nagar Panchayat member seats in the state, independents are leading on 20 seats and have won 22 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 28 seats and has won 8 seats. Congress is leading on 8 seats and has won one seat. BJP is leading on one seat in Nagar Nigam.

There are 1282 wards in 11 Municipal Corporations, 46 Nagar Palikas and 43 Nagar Panchayats. In the trends and results, Independents are leading in 70 out of 1282 wards and won 47. BJP is leading in 75 and won 21. Congress is leading in 10 and won 2.
