BSP’s first victory in Uttarakhand, Sanjeev alias Neetu registered victory for Laksar Nagar Palika President, uproar over demand for recounting

Bahujan Samaj Party’s account has been opened in Haridwar’s Laksar. BSP candidate Sanjeev alias Neetu has won the Nagar Palika Adhyaksh post here. In the sixth round, BSP got 5626 votes, Congress got 5442 and BJP candidate got 4606 votes. During the counting, there was a dispute between the agents of the party candidates. After which the police somehow pacified the matter.
BSP’s Sanjeev Kumar Neetu has won the Nagar Palika Adhyaksh post. He defeated Congress candidate Jagdev Singh alias Jaggi by 184 votes. BJP’s Devendra Chaudhary remained at third place. Sanjeev alias Neetu got 5626 votes, Congress’ Jagdev Singh alias Jaggi got 5442 votes and BJP’s Devendra Chaudhary got 4606 votes. The pace of counting of votes in the civic elections in Laksar was very slow. The counting of votes started at 8 am and continued till 11 pm. In the first round, BSP got 1535 votes, BJP got 1351 and Congress got 892 votes.
While in the second round BSP got 2920 votes, BJP got 2109 and Congress got 1804 votes. In the third round Congress got 2798 votes, BJP got 2668 and BSP got 3480 votes. In the fourth round Congress got 3951 votes, BJP got 3780 and BSP got 4264 votes. In the fifth and sixth rounds Congress got 5442 votes, BJP got 4606 and BSP got 5626 votes. The counting of votes which started at 8 in the morning continued till 11 in the night. Sanjeev alias Neetu while talking to the media thanked the people. He gave the credit of his victory to the public.
The counting of votes for Uttarakhand municipal bodies is in its final phase. In Haridwar’s Laksar Nagar Palika, there was a heated argument between the agents of the party candidates during the counting. It is alleged that BJP supporters standing outside tried to enter the counting room. But the police stopped them. Meanwhile, a policeman got injured in the scuffle. Seeing the uproar increasing, the presiding officer has stopped the counting.
In fact, BJP has nominated Devendra Singh, Congress Jagdev Singh Jaggi and BSP Sanjeev Kumar Neetu for the post of president on the Laksar Nagar Palika seat. Counting of votes continued peacefully on the seat since morning. In the counting of votes to be done in 6 rounds, 5 rounds of counting were completed by 8 pm. In which BSP candidate Sanjeev Kumar Neetu had taken a lead of 49 votes over Congress candidate Jagdev Singh Jaggi. But then the supporters of BJP candidate Devendra Singh created a ruckus and demanded recounting. The BJP candidate has alleged that there has been rigging in the counting. He warned that if recounting is not done then there will be a road blockade.
At the same time, seeing the uproar increasing, the police had to intervene, while the presiding officer had stopped the counting of votes of the last round. The police tried to convince the BJP supporters. Meanwhile, some people also got into a scuffle with the police. In which a policeman also got injured. On the other hand, BJP workers started gathering in the tehsil demanding recounting. They also sat on a dharna in the premises itself.
