Uttarakhand: Wrong condition of UCC is going viral on CM letterhead, Information Department said it is fake, action will be taken against those who share it

After the implementation of Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand, there are still many misconceptions among the people. Meanwhile, some information related to UCC is being propagated on social media. This information is going viral on social media with the letter pad of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his photo. In which it is said that for marriage after 27 January 2025 from the date of implementation of Uniform Civil Code, a certificate will have to be taken from the religious leaders, which has been made mandatory for marriage registration.
Letter with wrong information went viral on social media
The letter going viral on social media is being promoted with eight points on the letter pad of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, calling it “mandatory necessary information”.
In which all the information related to marriage has been mentioned. Whereas in reality, the certificate of religious leaders has not been made mandatory in the Uniform Civil Code. However, in some cases it has been said to take certificate from religious leaders. But the certificate of religious leaders is not required in any normal marriage.
The Department of Information and Public Relations has become alert about this letter which is becoming increasingly viral on social media. On the letter going viral on social media, DIPR Uttarakhand has called it fake and has emphasized that this post put on social media in the name of the Chief Minister is fake. Information has been given on behalf of DIPR on X that-
‘This post put on social media in the name of the Chief Minister is fake. Using the name of the Chief Minister in this way is a legal offense. This matter is being investigated seriously. Whoever has done this act, strict legal action will be taken against him. Also, legal action will be taken against anyone who shares this fake post.’
