Cases of land fraud are increasing continuously in Kumaon division. Complaints related to land fraud are continuously coming up in the public hearing meeting of Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat. During the public hearing, Kumaon Commissioner is also solving the problems of the victims.

On Monday, during the public hearing meeting of Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, once again cases of land fraud came to light on a large scale. Where a builder sold land to some people but now the mutation of those lands is not being done.

220 people complained during the public hearing

On Monday, in the public hearing program of Kumaon Commissioner, the case has come up from Kashipur of Udham Singh Nagar, where people of Sitarampur reached Kumaon Commissioner Camp Office Haldwani. Here, during the public hearing, they told that 220 people bought plots from a builder in the year 2012. But later it was found out that mutation could not be done due to the land being sealed. When a complaint was made to the builder regarding this matter, the builder is not even returning their money.

The commissioner handed over the investigation to the District Magistrate

After listening to the complaints of the people, the Kumaon Commissioner has handed over the investigation of the entire matter to the District Magistrate of Udham Singh Nagar. He has also directed that if the facts are proved correct in the investigation on selling the ceiling land, legal action should be taken against the said builder under the Land Fraud Act.

Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat has appealed to the people to get all the information about the land before buying it, whether there is any kind of loan, case or other dispute in the land. Buy land and sell the land only after getting the information of Khatauni from the employees of the Revenue Department.
