Uttarakhand: Congress workers got angry over not holding budget session in Gairsain, protested by observing a day-long fast
Congress workers were angry over not holding the budget session in Bhararisain Vidhan Sabha Bhawan. They expressed their protest by sitting under the statue of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, the hero of Peshawar incident, at Ramlila Maidan in Gairsain from 11 am and observing a day-long fast.
Congress workers said that despite being declared the summer capital, Gairsain is being continuously ignored by the BJP government. Before sitting on the fast, Congress workers started the fast program by garlanding the statue of Chandra Singh Garhwali. Congress party workers and officials were present during this.
Congress workers called it unfortunate
Angry over not holding the budget session in Gairsain, Nagar Panchayat President and State Vice President of Youth Congress Mohan Bhandari said that it is very unfortunate that Gairsain has been left as a summer capital in name only. Not holding the budget session in Gairsain is unfortunate not only for Gairsain but for the entire hill. He said that today the state government is cheating with the concept for which this state was formed. Mohan Bhandari said that instead of ignoring Gairsain, the Dhami government should come and sit in Gairsain with its MLAs and ministers.
State government ignoring Gairsain – Congress
State agitator Harendra Kandhari said that on one hand the government is patting its back by giving Gairsain the status of summer capital. On the other hand, it is ignoring Gairsain by not holding the session in Gairsain. He said that if the government continues to ignore Gairsain in this way, then very soon all the state agitators will be brought on one platform and the government will be warned. Harendra Kandhari said that the session has been held even in a tent in Gairsain. But today, despite having all the amenities, the government is not able to organize the session in Gairsain.
Congress city president Surendra Singh Bisht said that when Gairsain has been made the summer capital, then why is the Dhami government afraid of coming to Gairsain. He said that the session should have been held here. He accused the government that today the condition of roads and hospitals has gone from bad to worse. But the Dhami government does not want to come out of Dehradun. He warned the government that if Gairsain is neglected, then in the coming days, the Congress will call a session of the Assembly.
Block President Dan Singh Negi said on the budget session not being held in Gairsain that not only Gairsain but the entire mountain is being ignored. He said that if the budget session was held in Gairsain, the entire state would have benefited from it. If the government climbs the mountain, then the dignitaries will also know about the pain of the people living in the mountain. He said that the government should run the government from Gairsain for 6 months. He said that if Gairsain is ignored in this way, then in the coming days, a fierce agitation will be carried out against the state government.
