The mastermind who talked to BJP MLAs posing as Jai Shah has been arrested. He had demanded Rs 3 crore to make them ministers.

Recently, a case of attempt to dupe BJP MLAs in Uttarakhand by calling them in the name of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son and offering to make them ministers came to light. In this case, the police has also arrested the third main accused Gauravnath. Earlier, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar police have arrested two accused of the gang (Uvaish, Priyanshu Pant). The third accused has also been caught by Rudrapur police and SOG team from Delhi.
Let us tell you that on February 16, Abhishek Mishra, an associate of BJP MLA Shiv Arora from Rudrapur, had given a complaint about this case in the police station. Abhishek Mishra had told in his complaint that on February 13, MLA Shiv Arora was called from an unknown number. The person calling had introduced himself as Union Home Minister’s son Jai Shah.
The accused had demanded three crore rupees for the ministerial post
According to the allegations, the person calling told MLA Shiv Arora that the cabinet is to be expanded soon in Uttarakhand. Your name is also in the list. You are sure to become a minister. However, in return, he will have to pay three crore rupees.
Two more MLAs received calls
According to Abhishek Mishra’s complaint, MLA Shiv Arora got suspicious of the accused’s words. Therefore, he complained about the matter to the police. The police also registered a case and started investigating the matter. Apart from MLA Shiv Arora, similar calls were also received by Ranipur MLA Adesh Chauhan of Haridwar district and Nainital MLA Sarita Arya. There too, the police registered a case and started investigating the matter.
Two accused have already gone to jail
The police investigation revealed the names of three people, out of which one accused was arrested by Udham Singh Nagar Police from Rudrapur and the second accused was arrested by Haridwar Police from Delhi, but the third accused and the main conspirator of this fraud, Gauravnath, was not being caught by the police.
The main accused was arrested from Delhi
The police teams were constantly searching for the accused Gauravnath. Meanwhile, the police received information that Gauravnath was in Delhi. Based on this information, the police arrested accused Gauravnath from near Delhi’s Karkardooma court.
The three friends did this together
The police disclosed the case and said that the accused had called MLAs from two other states in the same way apart from Uttarakhand. According to the police, Uvaish, Priyanshu Pant and Gauravnath are all friends. All three are fond of living a luxurious life, going to clubs and consuming drugs. They need money for this. Therefore, they together made a plan to cheat the MLAs on 26 January.
Information of MLAs taken from Wikipedia
According to the information of the police, the three accused took out the mobile numbers of MLAs from Manipur, Odisha, Karnataka and Uttarakhand from a site. Then they got complete information about them from the internet and prepared a blueprint. The three decided that first they would be extorted from them in the name of making them ministers. If they did not agree, they would be threatened with defamation and trapping them and money would be demanded. However, this move backfired on them and they themselves were caught.
Learned the method of cheating MLAs from friends in jail
According to the police, Gaurav Nath had earlier also gone to jail in a cheating case in Delhi along with his two friends Sarvesh Mishra and Vishesh Kumar. He had learned this method from them. Later, Gaurav had a fight with them and the contact ended. After this, Gaurav took Uvaish and Priyanshu Pant with him.
Used the name of Jai Shah
The accused told that Priyanshu Pant had good speaking skills and after this, the three found out the numbers of MLAs of different states of the country and the political matters there from two mobile numbers. Finally, a call was made in the name of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jai Shah. The accused operated one mobile number in the name of Jai Shah and the other number in the name of Jai Shah’s PRO.
