Maharashtra: Didi where are you going? How did the cruel Dattatreya actually trap the victim? Police told the truth to the court

The accused in the rape case of a 26-year-old girl at Swargate bus depot in Pune has been arrested. The accused who raped the woman standing at the bus stand has been identified as Dattatreya Ramdas Gade. Police arrested him from his house on Thursday night. During the hearing in the court, the police revealed the truth of the entire incident of February 25. After the hearing, the local court sent the accused to police custody till March 12.

In fact, after three days of hard work, the police arrested Gade from a sugarcane field in his native village Gunat in Shirur taluka at around 1.10 am on Thursday-Friday night. As soon as he was arrested, the police took him to Sasoon Hospital for medical examination. After the medical examination, the team of Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre presented Gade in the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) TS Gaigole at around 6.15 pm. The police told the court about the incident of that day and the previous crime of the accused. Let’s know what the police told the court.

The victim had gone in the bus with the accused

The police told the court that on the day of the incident, the victim had gone inside the bus with the accused Gade (37). To win the trust of the victim, the accused kept addressing her as ‘tai-tai’ (sister) since they met at the bus stand. At the same time, the lawyer appearing on behalf of the rapist told the court that the rape incident did not take place here. In fact, both of them went inside the bus with consent and had sex.

The beast was roaming in the depot

The police told the court that the victim was waiting at the Swargate bus depot to catch a bus to her village in Satara district at around 5.30 am on the day of the incident. The police said that Gade, who was roaming around the bus depot, allegedly came to the victim and asked her ‘Tai, kuthe chalis tu? (Sister, where are you going?).’ The victim told that she was waiting for a bus to go to her home. Then he coaxed her and said that you are standing at the wrong place, the bus is parked at another place, let me tell you.

Won trust by calling her Didi-Didi

The police said that the accused Gade was constantly addressing her as Tai-Tai (Didi-Didi). After this, the victim got convinced and agreed to go with him. But the monster had something else in his mind. He took her with him to the Shivshahi bus (which runs on the Swargate-Solapur route) in the depot.

There was no one in the bus

The police said that neither the lights were on inside the bus nor was there anyone else. The accused coaxed her by saying that the passengers must be sleeping. And he told the victim that she can look inside by turning on the torch of the mobile phone. The police said that when she turned on the lights to check the bus, there was no one inside. After this, the victim told the accused, ‘Dada, mala bahar jaau diya, mala ghari jaeche ahe (brother, let me get off the bus, I want to go home).’

Betrayed twice

Police said that the accused in the bus allegedly raped the victim twice inside the bus and fled leaving her crying. She got off the bus and boarded a bus to her home. After reaching Hadapsar, she called her friend, who advised her to complain to the police. After this, she went to Swargate police station at around 9 am. An FIR was lodged against the accused under sections 64, 351 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). Police identified the accused from the footage of CCTV cameras of Swargate bus depot and other places.

Investigation necessary

Police told the court that the accused is a history-sheeter, against whom six criminal cases have been registered earlier. Police said that in five cases the victims were women. Police said that this shows the attitude of the accused towards women. The police sought custody so that his medical examination could be conducted and his cell phone and the clothes he was wearing at the time of the crime could be confiscated.
