Jharkhand budget: Focus on education, medicine and earning; Announcement of new university, medical and law college

In the state budget presented by the Jharkhand government on Tuesday, it has been proposed to establish three universities, three new technical universities, five law colleges and six medical colleges. State Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore made this announcement while presenting the budget in the state assembly.
Establishment of a skill and a fin-tech university
The Jharkhand government has proposed to establish a skill and a fin-tech university in the state to promote professional education, besides setting up business and mass communication institutes in Jamshedpur, Palamu, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh and Deoghar.
Radha Krishna Kishore said that the government is proposing to establish law colleges in Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Dumka and Palamu to encourage the study of law. At the same time, a proposal is being prepared to establish three new technical universities in Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Dumka.
Medical colleges in Khunti, Giridih, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Jamtara
The Finance Minister said that the government is committed to providing quality health facilities to the people of the state. He said that administrative approval has already been given to set up a new medical college and hospital in Ranchi. Apart from this, the budget also proposes to set up medical colleges in Khunti, Giridih, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Jamtara on the basis of public-private partnership (PPP).
Budget of Rs 15198 crore for primary-secondary education
The state government has allocated Rs 15,198.35 crore to the Primary and Secondary Education Department for 2025-2026, while Rs 2,409.20 crore has been set for the Higher and Technical Education Department. A budget of Rs 7,470.50 crore has been proposed for the Health Department.
Establishment of 59 new day-boarding sports training centres
To promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the government has proposed to establish MSME Directorate or MSME Cell in the state. The government has also proposed to establish 59 new ‘day-boarding’ sports training centres in the state.
