Delhi: ‘I am a minister and Pravesh Verma is the CM…’, why did Chief Minister Rekha Gupta say this on Sahib Singh Verma’s birthday?
CM Rekha Gupta attended the birthday program of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma. During this, she said that the last work in Delhi was done during the time of Sahib Singh Verma. At the same program, she also made a big statement about the CM post.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “It is fortunate that his daughter is the CM and son is a minister. It could have been the other way round. I am a minister and Pravesh is the CM, but it has been our tradition that anything is given to the elder daughter first. Maybe this could be the reason.”
‘I have received his blessings since childhood’
She further said, “I have come to this prayer meeting many times, but I did not think that I would come here in this form. I have received Sahib Singh Verma’s blessings since childhood. Today, when the BJP government has been formed in Delhi and the MLA from Shalimar Bagh has been elected CM, the story has started from there. First Sahib Singh Verma was the CM and now Rekha.” ‘Pravesh and I were in the same school’
CM Rekha Gupta also said, “The last work in Delhi was done during the time of Sahib Singh Verma. Pravesh Verma and I were in the same school and we saw from the beginning how Sahib ji became CM from a councillor. We have seen his journey from getting the drains built to reaching the assembly.”
‘I want to become a leader like him’
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta further said, “I think what kind of leader I should become, so I want to become a leader like him. Today, both of us siblings will complete the work left by him.”
