Uttarakhand: CM Dhami inaugurated the Purnagiri fair and also made many big announcements

The Maa Purnagiri fair, held every year at Maa Purnagiri Dham situated in the Maa Purna mountains in Tanakpur of the district, has started on Saturday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Purnagiri fair by performing formal worship. The CM said that the famous Maa Purnagiri fair of North India, which runs for three months every year for the government period, will be conducted throughout the year.

The famous Maa Purnagiri fair of North India was inaugurated on Saturday. The Chief Minister of the state and Champawat MLA Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Purnagiri fair by reaching Thuligad and performing formal worship and cutting the ribbon. On this occasion, the Chief Minister described Maa Purnagiri Dham as the center of faith of millions of people. Along with this, the identity of Maa Purnagiri fair as the longest fair in the state after the Kumbh Mela was described.

This year the Maa Purnagiri fair will start from March 15 and will run for a period of 90 days till June 15. He said that the fair administration and the district administration should ensure that the pilgrims do not face any kind of inconvenience during the journey. Along with this, the Maa Purnagiri fair will be developed as a circuit. Due to which the famous religious places of the district, Golju, Baba Gorakhnath, Maa Barahi, Rankochi Mata, Byandhura Baba Shyamaltal, Reetha Sahib Mayawati Ashram, major places will be easily visited.

CM Dhami said that the Maa Purnagiri fair should not be conducted in the government period of three months but should be conducted throughout the year. So that devotees coming from far away can reach Tanakpur in Champawat district throughout the year to visit Maa Purnagiri. The state government is making efforts for this.
