Uttarakhand: Governor launched three -day Vasantotsav
The three-day Vasantotsav-2023 inaugurated Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Seni) on Friday 3 March at 11 am today. On March 3 from 1 pm to 6 pm and on March 4 and 5 from 9 am to 6 pm, the flower exhibition will be open to the general public. The three -day event has a total of 62 sub categories in the category of 16 main competitions, of which first, second and third prizes will be given. A total of 186 awards will be given to the winners on March 5, 2023 following the decision of the deciding board. For the first time this year, 4 new categories, roftop gardening, bonsai, terrarium and honey have been included.
Earlier on Thursday, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Seni) flagged off the special publicity vehicle of Vasantotsav-2023. This vehicle decorated with flowers will promote the festival in the entire Dehradun city.
The Governor appealed for the participation of more and more people in the Vasantotsav and said that maximum number should come and enjoy floral exhibitions, competitions and other programs here. Told that the publicity vehicle will travel from Doiwala to Selakui and will give information to the people for the flower exhibition.
On this occasion, Director of Horticulture Dr. HS Baveja, Joint Director Dr. Ratan Kumar, Horticulture Officer Deepak Purohit and other officers were present.
