The state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma reached Bijapur on a day-long visit on Saturday and met the brave soldiers of the security forces involved in the encounter between the police and the Maoists in the forests of Andri in Gangalore region at the protected center of Bijapur and encouraged them by praising their courageous and successful operation. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Sharma said that today I have come to Bijapur by road due to the strength of the arms of the security forces. Before this, no Home Minister had come to Bijapur by road. It is worth mentioning that in this encounter that took place on March 20, the bodies of a total of 26 uniformed Maoists, including 14 female Maoists, have been recovered.
The dead Maoists identified included DVCM, ACM, PPCM and PLGA members. A large quantity of AK 47, SLR, INSAS rifle, 303 rifle, rocket launcher, BGL launcher weapons along with explosives, medicines, Maoist uniforms, literature and other daily use items were recovered from the encounter site. DRG, STF, Bastar Fighter, Cobra, CRPF, BSF, ITBP CAF and all other security force members deployed in Bastar Range are working dedicatedly for the peace, security and development of Bastar region with strong morale and clear goals. In the year 2025, as a result of effective anti-Maoist operation against the banned and illegal CPI Maoist organization by the security forces under Bastar division, a total of 97 hardcore Maoist bodies were recovered in the last 80 days. In which 82 Maoist bodies have been recovered in the last 80 days in District- Bijapur.

With this campaign, you have changed the thinking of the country and the world. I pay tribute to one of our brave soldiers who was martyred in a fierce encounter. Bastar has been an island of peace, but due to some misguided people, this peace has been disturbed. Our security forces and police personnel will destroy such people. This has been the biggest operation of Chhattisgarh. He said that the rehabilitation policy of the Chhattisgarh government has yielded positive results.
