Women will not get pink tickets in Delhi buses, Rekha Sarkar made this announcement on free bus service

The BJP government of Delhi on Tuesday presented its first budget for the year 2025-26. Presenting the budget, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that women of the capital will no longer have to take pink tickets to travel in DTC buses.

The Chief Minister of Delhi said that women will be given smart cards to travel free in DTC buses. She allocated Rs 12,952 crore to improve the transport sector of Delhi. Along with this, a target was set to include 5000 electric buses in Delhi by 2026 regarding public transport.

Corruption in the name of tickets will stop

Presenting a total budget of Rs 1 lakh crore for the financial year 2025-26, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta criticized the Aam Aadmi Party for the loss of Rs 14,000 crore to DTC exposed in the CAG report. During this, she claimed, “In the previous government, there was a pink ticket scam in the name of offering free travel to women.”

CM Rekha Gupta said, “At present, Delhi is the third city in the world to have a significant fleet of electric buses, which includes 2,152 electric buses. Of these, 1,752 electric buses are running under DTC, while 400 buses are part of the DIMTS cluster scheme. Additionally, by the financial year 2025-26, it is expected that this fleet will exceed 5,000 electric buses.”

Rs 2,929 crore allocated for Metro project

Delhi CM allocated Rs 2,929 crore for Delhi Metro projects. Also told that the previous AAP government did not give any money to the central government to repay the liability of Rs 6,000 crore for the fourth phase of the metro.

Rs 5100 crore allocated for Mahila Samridhi Yojana

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that it is our commitment and resolve to provide ₹ 2,500 to women under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. For this purpose, we have allocated Rs 5100 crore, and we will definitely provide it.

Delhiites will get health insurance of Rs 10 lakh

CM Rekha Gupta said that the implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme was announced in the first cabinet itself. The Delhi government has decided to provide a top up of health insurance of Rs 10 lakh by adding Rs 5 lakh to the Government of India’s Rs 5 lakh.
