Anti-terror operation resumed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua, body of fourth policeman found

The body of another policeman was seen on Friday through a drone near the site of the first encounter in a remote forest area of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Giving information about this, the officials said that this is the fourth policeman martyred in the encounter. Security forces have also killed 3 terrorists. They said that heavy firing and loud sounds of blasts were heard on the second day as well. Police, Army and CRPF entered the area from different directions on Friday morning. Officials said that the operation resumed as soon as morning arrived.
2 more terrorists are hiding there
The main objective of the security forces was to retrieve the bodies of the killed terrorists and policemen, find a missing policeman and eliminate any possible threat in the area. He said that the security forces are moving towards their target with utmost caution as it is believed that 2 more terrorists are hiding there. Earlier those terrorists were considered dead, but their bodies could not be seen by the drone. Officials said that the operation against the terrorists near Jakhole village in Ghati Juthana of Rajbagh started at around 8 am on Thursday.
‘3 terrorists killed in retaliation’
In a retaliatory action led by the SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police with the help of Army and CRPF, 3 terrorists were killed. 5 policemen including an SDPO were reportedly trapped near the spot of firing, which was near a rivulet surrounded by dense trees. This further escalated the tension. The SDPO was rescued from the spot in an injured condition late Thursday evening, while his 3 personal security officers were found dead. The body of a policeman was found this morning. Apart from the SDPO, 3 more policemen were admitted to Kathua hospital and their condition is said to be stable. Two Army personnel have been injured in the operation.
