Uttarakhand: Dhami took the meeting of the policy body of Setu Commission, CM gave instructions to prepare a brief report by subject experts on the possibilities in various fields in the state
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami held the first meeting of the policy body of the Setu Commission in the Secretariat on Monday, in which the CM said that the Setu Commission should prepare a vision document for the Golden Jubilee of the state by 2050. A well-planned plan should be made and implemented for the social, economic and environmental development of the state in the next 25 years. Work should also be done to connect the migrant Uttarakhandis with the development journey of the state and motivate them to invest in the state. The Chief Minister said that the Setu Commission will make an important contribution to make the state strong and self-reliant. A short-term plan of 02 years, a medium-term plan of 10 years and a long-term plan of 25 years should be made by the Setu Commission. He said that along with making plans, special attention should be paid to their implementation and monitoring. Keeping in mind the immense possibilities of work in the horticulture and dairy sector in the state, special attention should be given in this area by the experts of the Setu Commission. Work should be done towards skill development and modern training of youth. He said that Setu Aayog will have to work as a catalyst for the departments. The Chief Minister said that a brief report should be prepared by subject experts on the possibilities in various fields in the state, so that the departments get the right direction to work further. He said that there are many possibilities of working in the field of agriculture, horticulture, tourism, energy, medicinal products in the state.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that policies are being made keeping in mind the geographical conditions of the state so that they can be implemented better on the ground. The result of this is that after the implementation of CM Scholarship Scheme, the number of students in schools has increased. Better health schemes have brought many improvements in health facilities, institutional delivery has increased rapidly.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the marketing of products of agriculture and allied sectors in the state can be improved. For this, there is a need to encourage cluster farming more at the local level along with the supply chain.
Vice Chairman of Setu Aayog, Shri Rajshekhar Joshi, gave detailed information about the work done by the Aayog till now and the work to be done in future. He said that the main objective of Setu Aayog is to coordinate with the departments and implement those policies in a better way so that the eligible person can get the benefit of the schemes, as per the state policy, so that the benefits of the schemes can reach the eligible person. He informed that a strategy is being prepared in collaboration with the departments for the overall development of the state of Uttarakhand. This will increase the acceptance of the schemes at the ground level and will also make implementation easier. Maximum use of technology, balance between economy and ecology and effective monitoring will be done. Work will be done in agriculture, higher education, animal husbandry, health, industry, skill development, IT and other areas in collaboration with organizations like Tata Trust, Bill Gates Foundation, NASSCOM, ITC, Mahindra. Along with this, effective efforts are being made towards making the barren land of the state cultivable, strengthening the agricultural producer organization, dairy sector.
Chief Executive Officer Shatrughan Singh said that Setu Aayog is operating smoothly. The main objective of the Commission is to strengthen the socio-economic development of the state. Within a month, the output of the Commission’s work will be seen within the state.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Mrs. Rekha Arya, Principal Secretary Mr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Mr. Shailesh Bagoli, Mr. Dilip Javalkar, Advisor Finance Hanumant Pant, Monitoring and Evaluation Vishal Parashar, Social Welfare Bhavana and members of the Commission were present.
