Uttarakhand: Not a single candidate passed the selection exam for judges, 42 lawyers had given the exam for three posts

Not a single candidate was successful in the examination conducted by the Nainital High Court for Higher Judicial Service cadre in the state. 22 candidates did not appear for the examination and none of the 42 were found eligible for the interview. The result of the examination has been declared recently.
An examination was conducted for direct recruitment of advocates of the bar for three posts of Additional District and Sessions Judge in the state. Direct recruitment examination was conducted by the High Court for three posts. The examination was of 600 marks in total, which had four papers. A total of 64 candidates were found eligible for the main written examination. Out of these, 22 did not even appear for the examination. Not a single candidate among the remaining 42 was successful for the interview.
For the examination in Hindi or English, those advocates of the bar were eligible, whose age was up to 35 years and they had seven years of experience in advocacy. To pass the main examination, a minimum of 50 percent marks were prescribed for the general category and 45 percent for the reserved category.
