The Israeli army’s action continues in Gaza and the West Bank. On Wednesday, 22 people were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza. Among those killed was a six-month-old girl, her mother was injured.
Since the ceasefire ended in March, about 1,650 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, while a total of 51 thousand people have been killed since October 2023. The Israeli army claims that a large number of these are terrorists of Hamas and other organizations.
Consensus is not being reached with Hamas
Israel has said that it will continue attacks on Gaza until its hostage civilians are released. While Hamas has said that it will not release the hostages without a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a permanent ceasefire as per the earlier agreement. The Israeli army has also displaced tens of thousands of people in the Palestinian-dominated West Bank.
These people are spending their days taking shelter in various places. They fear that they will be removed again soon. On Wednesday, the Israeli army also carried out drone attacks in southern Lebanon. Two people were killed in these attacks. The United Nations has said that despite the ceasefire in Lebanon since November, more than 70 people have been killed in Israeli attacks there.
More than four thousand people from Israel and Lebanon were killed in the fighting that took place before the ceasefire. Meanwhile, there is news of heavy loss of life and property in the US action against the Houthi group in Yemen.
Maldives bans entry of Israeli people
Maldives has changed its immigration law and banned the entry of Israeli passport holders. The Maldives government has taken this step in protest against the Gaza war. The proposal to change the law was passed by the Maldives Parliament on Monday, and President Muhammad Muizzu approved it on Tuesday.
The President’s Office has informed about the implementation of the changed system. But the government has not clarified whether this ban will apply to people of Israeli origin with dual citizenship or not.
