Australia has announced its team for the final of the World Test Championship. 15 players have got a place under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. One name in this is Cameron Green. Australia’s chief has returned to the Australia team. He could not play the Border Gavaskar Trophy against India. Green is a reliable middle-order batsman as well as a useful fast bowler. However, he has been selected as a specialist batsman right now.

Green had surgery in October

Cameron Green had a spinal problem during the England tour in September. He chose the path of surgery to recover from it. Green underwent surgery in October. During a short career, the 25-year-old all-rounder had this problem for the 5th time. This is the reason why he decided to undergo surgery. Green’s surgery took place in Christchurch, New Zealand. The procedure was done by renowned orthopedic spine surgeons Graham Inglis and Rowan Scotton.

Will return to Test after 457 days

Cameron Green played his last Test against New Zealand last year. That match was held in Christchurch between 8 and 11 March. Now he will play against South Africa in the World Test Championship on 11 June. Green played his last international match on 24 September in the form of an ODI match against England. Apart from scoring 42 runs in that match, he also took two wickets.

Scored a century while making a comeback

Cameron Green returned to county cricket last month after surgery. Playing for Gloucestershire, he scored 112 runs against Kent. However, after that, 3, 4, 2 and 8 runs came off his bat in four innings. Talking about Test career, Green has scored 1377 runs in 28 matches at an average of 36. Along with this, he has also dismissed 35 batsmen in bowling. He has been a part of the team that won the World Test Championship 2023 and World Cup 2023.
