England women’s team won the first T20

Top-order batsman Natalie Shiver (55) scored a scintillating half-century as England women’s cricket team thrashed India by 18 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis rule on Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

For England, Shiver scored 55 runs in just 27 balls with the help of eight fours and a six. Wicketkeeper Amy Allen Jones contributed 43 runs in 27 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. England scored 177 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, India scored 54 for three in 8.4 overs that the game could not be possible due to rain. England were ahead by 18 runs at that time and then became the winners on the same score. Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for 29 runs in 17 balls with the help of six fours. Young opener Shefali Verma’s account did not open. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur got out after scoring one run.
