The doors of Rudranath temple, one of the Panch Kedars, will be opened for devotees on May 18. The temple committee, administration and Kedarnath Forest Division have intensified preparations for this. Let us tell you that this year the forest department has taken a new step to make the yatra more well-organized and eco-sensitive than before.

The yatra will be conducted through EDC

The yatra will be conducted this year through the Ecology Development Committee (EDC). Local people from nearby villages have been included in the committee. The special thing is that only a maximum of 140 devotees will be allowed to go to the temple every day.

Registration for Rudranath Yatra is mandatory (rudranath temple registration)

It has been made mandatory for devotees to register for Rudranath Yatra, which they can do online or at the base camp. Kedarnath Wildlife Division has prepared a website https://kedarnathwildlife-uk-gov-in/ for online registration of travellers.

Lord Shiva’s face is worshipped in Rudranath temple

According to the history and belief of Rudranath temple, this is the place where Lord Shiva’s face appeared. Hence it is also called ‘Mukh Rudra’. In the Panchkedar Yatra, it is worshipped as the fourth Kedar. Rudranath temple is situated at an altitude of about 3600 meters above sea level.
