Uttarakhand: Dhami cabinet approves Chief Minister Single Women Self-Employment Scheme, know who will get the benefit

In the meeting held in Dhami cabinet meeting today, the Chief Minister Single Women Self-Employment Scheme has been approved. On which Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya has congratulated the women of the state. The minister said that 75 percent of the project amount approved in this scheme will be in the form of subsidy.
Chief Minister Single Women Self-Employment Scheme gets cabinet approval
Minister Rekha Arya said after the cabinet meeting that unmarried, abandoned, divorced, destitute and disabled single women of the state have been brought under the purview of this scheme. Rekha Arya said that in this scheme, projects up to 2 lakhs will be accepted for self-employment to eligible women, out of which 75% will be in the form of subsidy i.e. grant. Beneficiaries will have to invest only 25 percent of their own share in the business.
Target to assist 2 thousand women in the first year
The minister said that a target has been set to benefit at least 2 thousand women under this scheme in the first year. Looking at the progress of the first year, a decision will be taken to increase the number of beneficiaries in the scheme. The minister said that many schemes are already running in the state to empower women. But till now there was no assistance scheme specifically focused on single women. The minister said that there is a great need to empower women of this category, hence a special scheme has been prepared for single women.
