Uttarakhand: In Haridwar land scam, Harish Rawat asked, what will happen to the white collar people? Demand for CBI investigation

c
The opposition has demanded a CBI inquiry into the Haridwar land scam. Senior Congress leader and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has issued a statement on the matter. He said that this is a very serious matter. This is a big corruption. There are reports of such scams in many parts of Uttarakhand.
Harish Rawat says that the land scams should either be investigated under the supervision of a judge, or a high-level SIT should be formed or the CBI should be asked to investigate the matter, whatever investigation is done should be done under the supervision of the court. At the same time, Harish Rawat alleged that one thing is certain that one, two or three officers cannot commit such an open scam. Political patronage or involvement, one of the two is definitely there. The matter was not digestible, so the officers were punished. But what will happen to the white-collared people? No matter what the color of their clothes is?
Let us tell you that in the Haridwar land scam, the Dhami government took major action and suspended seven officials including the then District Magistrate of Haridwar Karmendra Singh, the then Haridwar Municipal Commissioner IAS Varun Chaudhary and PCS officer Ajay Veer on June 3.
Earlier also action has been taken against five officers. At the same time, CM Dhami has also ordered a vigilance inquiry into the matter. It is worth noting that Haridwar Municipal Corporation had purchased 33 bighas of land in Sarai village in the year 2024. Before buying, this land was converted into category 143, that is, agricultural land was converted into non-agricultural land. In this way, land worth Rs 13 crore was purchased for Rs 54 crore. However, the reason for which this land was purchased is not yet clear.
