Uttarakhand: CM Dhami takes strict action, three engineers suspended after under-construction bridge in Tharali got damaged

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a tough stand in the case of damage to the under-construction bridge in Tharali of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. After his clear instructions, three engineers of the Public Works Department have been suspended.

Taking action on this entire episode, Secretary of Public Works Department Pankaj Kumar Pandey suspended three engineers with immediate effect. This step is part of the government’s policy of accountability and transparency, which the Chief Minister has been constantly emphasizing.

Chief Minister Dhami has bluntly said that if any officer or employee is found negligent about his work or is involved in corruption, then he will not be spared. The goal of the state government is to bring Uttarakhand in the line of leading and honest states of the country. For this, accountability is being fixed at the administrative level.

The CM has given a clear message to all the officers and employees that there is no scope for negligence in public interest works. Every officer must be aware of his responsibilities and work honestly, otherwise he will have to be ready for strict action.
