A big revelation has been made about the stampede that took place on Mauni Amavasya on January 29 during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. According to government figures, 37 people died in the stampede at Sangam Nose. After which their families have been given a compensation of 25 lakhs each. However, now a big claim has been made in a new report.

According to the BBC Hindi report, at least 82 people died that day. Out of these, 26 families were found who lost their loved ones in the stampede but their names were not included in the list of the dead.

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has been showing the Maha Kumbh as one of its major achievements. CM Yogi Adityanath himself, while giving information about the stampede in the Maha Kumbh in the House, confirmed the death of 37 people.

According to the new report, in the investigation conducted in more than 50 districts, more than a hundred such families were found who have accepted the death of their loved ones in the stampede. Out of these, 82 families have been able to provide concrete evidence of this.

There was a stampede at four places

According to the report, there was a stampede at four places in Maha Kumbh on the day of Mauni Amavasya. In which people died. According to CM Yogi, an amount of Rs 25 lakh each has been transferred by the government to 35 out of 37 people. Which was given through direct transfer or cheque.

The BBC report claims that during the investigation, 26 families were found who were given Rs 5 lakh each in cash. They also have videos and photos of UP Police giving this amount. Many of these families claimed that they were forced to sign papers on which it was said that the death was due to sudden deterioration in health. Apart from this, 19 more such families were also found in the investigation who did not even get Rs 5 lakh each.

Families of the deceased divided into three categories

In the BBC report, the 82 deceased who died in the Maha Kumbh have been divided into three parts. Of these, the first category includes those who received Rs 25 lakh each, the second category includes families who received Rs 5 lakh each in cash, while the third category includes families of those who did not receive any financial assistance. Among those who were given Rs 5 lakh each, 18 are from Uttar Pradesh, 5 from Bihar, 2 from West Bengal and one from Jharkhand. All of them were given money in cash. There is no indication that this money was given legally.

The third category includes families of 19 deceased who did not receive any assistance from the government. It has been claimed in this report that the number of dead may be even higher than this. There is strong evidence and eyewitnesses to the death of all the 82 people who are claimed to have died in the stampede.
