Uttarakhand: Dhami gave instructions to prepare comprehensive plans for Kainchidham fair, took online meeting of Nainital administration

The number of devotees visiting the famous Kainchi Dham is increasing rapidly year after year. From April 2024 to March 2025, about 24 lakh devotees visited Kainchi Dham. Due to the large number of devotees arriving at Kainchi Dham, not only is the situation of jam being created, but the passengers are also facing many difficulties. In view of this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday. During the meeting, he talked about preparing plans keeping in mind the extensiveness of the Kainchi Dham fair and the facilities of the devotees.

CM Pushkar Singh has given instructions to prepare immediate, mid-term and long-term plans to improve the arrangements and facilities at Kainchi Dham. The CM directed to improve the current operation of the fair with immediate measures, directed to develop a permanent and robust management system through medium and long-term plans. Along with this, instructions were also given to complete the cutting work being done on the road from Sanatorium to Bhawali Petrol Pump onwards for about 3 km soon, so that the traffic system can be further improved.

The number of devotees in the famous religious place Kainchi Dham fair is increasing rapidly every year. About 24 lakh devotees visited Kainchi Dham in a year, while in the previous years the number of devotees was around 8 lakh. In such a situation, the number of devotees is likely to increase further this year. The DM said that the carrying capacity of Kainchi Dham is low, while during the fair many times more devotees come than the capacity.

Nainital DM Vandana Singh further said that this year two and a half lakh to three lakh devotees are expected to come, due to which a plan has been prepared for traffic management and crowd control. He also said that in future, a suggestion has also been given to implement the registration system for the devotees coming to Kainchi Dham and to set a maximum limit, so that the journey of the passengers can be made safe, well-organized and smooth. Let us tell you that the famous Kainchi Dham fair is going to start on 15th June, for which the administration is busy in all the preparations. So that people do not have to face problems.
