Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla flew into space yesterday. Shubhanshu has gone to the ISS with three foreign astronauts under the Axiom-4 mission. In such a situation, he will do many experiments by staying on the International Space Station (ISS) for 14 days.

Let us tell you that this mission has been postponed eight times due to technical flaws. After which finally this mission was launched on 25 June. In such a situation, now everyone’s eyes are on the success of this mission. Now that he has reached space, let us know what efforts ISRO will make in space under the mission.

Shubhanshu Shukla Axiom-4 ISRO Experiments: Study of cyanobacteria in space

In this experiment, the growth and behavior of two types of cyanobacteria will be studied in collaboration with ISRO and European Space Agency (ESA).

In this study, the ability and flexibility of their photosynthesis will be analyzed. This can be helpful for life support systems on the Moon or Mars in the future.

Effect of microgravity on muscle health

When someone stays in space for a long time, his muscles start weakening. The purpose of this experiment is to know why this happens? And how can it be prevented?

This research can be beneficial not only for astronauts but also for health problems like muscle loss in the elderly.

Preparation for farming in space

The team of Kerala Agricultural University has sent 6 different crop seeds into space. In this, it will be seen how these seeds react in conditions like microgravity and radiation. This can pave the way for space farming in the future.

Effect of space on microalgae

This experiment is being conducted by ICGEB and NIPGR institutes of India. In this experiment, it will be investigated what effect space conditions like low gravity and radiation have on edible microalgae. Microalgae can become an important part of space diet in the future.

Attempt to strengthen muscles again

An organization called InStem will study how certain types of supplements can help in strengthening muscles again in microgravity. This can be used not only for astronauts but also in medical science.

Germination of seeds in space

The team of Agriculture University of Dharwad and IIT Dharwad will try to grow moong and fenugreek seeds in space. Both of these are not only rich in nutrition, but their medicinal properties can also prove to be important for the health of astronauts.

Testing the toughness of tardigrades

Tardigrades i.e. water bear-like microorganisms are known for their extraordinary survival skills. In this experiment, it will be seen how these microbes survive, reproduce and recreate themselves in space-like conditions.
