Flood, landslide… Monsoon will show its ferocity again, warning of ‘heavy to very heavy’ rain in Himachal

The weather is going to deteriorate once again in Himachal Pradesh and a warning of heavy rain has been issued. On Friday, heavy rains have been going on in Mandi and Kangra of the state since morning. Earlier, in the last 24 hours, 139 mm of rain has fallen in Pandol of Mandi. The Meteorological Department (IMD) of Shimla has issued a press release on Friday regarding heavy rains.

The Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a warning of heavy rains and thunderstorms in most parts of the state from June 27 to July 3, 2025. According to the department, there is a possibility of widespread rainfall in the plains, lower and middle hilly areas and adjoining high altitude areas of the state, in which the intensity of rain is expected to be the highest on June 29.

Why will there be heavy rain in Himachal

The Meteorological Department report states that due to the effect of cyclonic circulation and its associated trough over south-west Rajasthan, the monsoon has become active at a fast pace in Himachal. Along with this, this trough is spread from East Rajasthan, North Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gangetic plains to Bangladesh, due to which conditions of widespread rainfall are being created in the state.

It will rain continuously for seven days

The Meteorological Center said that heavy rains may occur continuously in many districts from June 27. On June 27, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur. On June 28, a yellow alert has been issued again including Mandi and Shimla along with these districts. The situation may become more serious on June 29, when very heavy rains are expected in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur, while heavy rains are also expected in Chamba, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla. An orange alert has been issued for this day. After this, on June 30, there will be a yellow alert again in Una, Bilaspur, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts and on July 1, Mandi, Shimla and Solan may receive heavy rainfall.

Apart from this, warnings of thunderstorms and lightning have also been issued in many districts. There may be incidents of thunderstorms and lightning in Chamba, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur between June 27 and 29.

Flash flood and landslide warning

The Meteorological Department has warned about the possible effects that during this period there may be incidents of landslides and debris falling in sensitive areas. Problems like waterlogging in low-lying areas, vehicle accidents due to slippery roads, reduced visibility and traffic jams may arise. Apart from this, essential services like water, electricity and communication system may also be disrupted.

Do not go out of the house

People have been advised to follow the instructions issued by the Meteorological Department and the local administration. Avoid going to waterlogged areas, do not go near rivers and streams and stay in safe places. Drivers have also been appealed to be cautious on slippery roads and low visibility. Also, in view of the possibility of lightning, it has been advised to stay away from open spaces and reservoirs. Cloud burst on June 25

It is worth noting that on June 25, there was heavy rain in Kangra and Kullu in Himachal and due to this 12 people went missing. In which only one person has been found alive. Bodies of a total of 6 people have been found. The search for the remaining five people is going on in Kullu and Dharamshala.

Uttarakhand / Dehradun: A heart wrenching incident has come to light from Vikasnagar in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Where a young man killed his own mother and fled from the spot. Actually this incident is of 3rd August. Where Herbertpur police got information about a fire in a house in Rambagh area. When the police reached the spot, they found the burnt body of an old woman inside. The owner of the house, Sanjay Singh Rana, identified the body as his wife Suresho Devi alias Vandana Rana. Earlier it seemed that the woman died due to burning in the fire but the investigation revealed the case of murder. In such a situation, today the police has arrested him. Murdered mother when he did not get money for drugs The next day of the incident, the husband of the deceased, Sanjay Singh, while giving a complaint to the police, told that his son Manmohan Singh used to live with his mother. He was addicted to drugs and often used to demand money from his mother. There used to be a lot of quarrel between the two when the mother refused. The father told that Manmohan was missing from home since the incident. After which, he expressed doubt that maybe his son had committed the murder and set the room on fire. The police already suspected the son The police immediately registered a case against the son and started investigation. After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
