Once again a strange case is coming to light from UP. Where the bridge on the Kanpur-Sagar National Highway (NH-34) remains closed for the common people every Saturday and Sunday due to the repair of the Yamuna bridge. But even during this closure, VIP vehicles are being given easy passage and now this dual system is under question.
Ambulance stopped in the name of repair but BJP MLA’s vehicle was given permission
On Saturday, such a scene came to light which caught the attention of the whole state. An MLA’s vehicle was allowed to pass through the closed bridge without any hindrance. But a young man who was bringing his mother’s body in an ambulance was stopped. He was not allowed to cross the bridge.
Crossed the bridge on foot by keeping the body on a stretcher
The result was that he kept his mother’s body on a stretcher and crossed the bridge on foot for about a kilometer. Whoever saw this scene, his eyes became moist. But the heart of any officer present on the spot did not melt. The situation was such that the ambulance remained stopped but the VIP car passed by.
The video went viral on social media
As soon as the incident came to light, there was a stir from social media to political corridors. The opposition surrounded the government. Questions started being asked whether humanity is still alive or the paths are open only for the influential people?
After the uproar, the administration has now come into action. District Magistrate Ghanshyam Meena has taken this negligence seriously and taken action against many officers. The Assistant Route Patrolling Officer has been removed. At the same time, Chief Patrolling Officer Santosh Chaudhary has been attached to Lucknow. Apart from this, PNC Project Manager MP Verma has also been reprimanded.
Such lapses will not be tolerated in future
The DM has clearly said that such lapses will not be tolerated at all in future. Strict action will be taken against those responsible. It is worth noting that the repair work on the Yamuna bridge will continue till July. This bridge will remain closed for general traffic every week on Saturday and Sunday. In the next few weeks, this closure will also be applicable on 5–6 July, 12–13 July and 19–20 July.
