NDRF and SDRF have launched a search operation to find the missing people.

Six people were buried under the debris when a house collapsed in Bara Panchayat. A mother and son died in this. Four people were saved after a three-hour rescue operation. In Parwada, a mother, son and daughter-in-law were swept away in the strong current of the drain. The son’s body has been recovered. A five-year-old girl survived safely. Cloudburst has caused massive destruction in Bagsyad, Thunag and Janjehli of Saraj subdivision. 19 people, including the relatives of a school employee, were swept away, out of which four bodies have been recovered. 15 people are still missing.

Hundreds of deodar trees have been swept away in Chulathaj. One person died and four are missing due to cloudburst in Sakrol and Kutti of Karsog. Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apoorv Devgan coordinated with disaster management teams throughout the night and rescued hundreds of people safely. He visited other affected areas including Gohar, Karsog, Balichowki and Thunag and reviewed the relief and rehabilitation works. 24 houses and 12 cattle sheds have been damaged in the district. More than 70 cattle have died and property worth crores has been damaged.

Train wheels stopped due to landslide on Kalka-Shimla railway track
