Civil Aviation Conference: CM Dhami demands a separate aviation policy for hill states

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also attended the Civil Aviation Conference-2025 organized in Dehradun on Friday. On this occasion, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Civil Aviation Ministers of North India and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu were welcomed. Along with this, he also demanded from the central government to formulate a mountain aviation policy for the hilly states.

Common people benefited from ‘Udaan Yojana’

During this, the Chief Minister said that this conference is a proof of the historic progress made in the civil aviation sector of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that through the Udaan scheme, air travel has become accessible to the common citizens by connecting small cities and remote areas with air connectivity. Along with this, the local economy has also been strengthened.

Work continues on 18 heliports

CM Dhami informed that currently 18 heliports are being developed in Uttarakhand. Out of which services have started on 12. He said that heli services have become not only a means of transport but also a lifeline in mountainous states like Uttarakhand. Be it disaster management, health services or pilgrimage, helicopter services have provided unprecedented convenience in these areas.

CM Dhami demands separate aviation policy for mountainous states

Dhami also demanded the Union Civil Aviation Ministry to formulate a separate “mountain aviation policy” for mountainous states. Which should include special financial assistance, subsidy for operations, suitable for mountainous areas. Which should include provisions like ATC network, accurate weather forecast, slotting and pre-disaster preparation. The Chief Minister also requested all operators to provide special pilot training for mountain flights, strict adherence to safety standards and ensure the safety of passengers.
