There is good news for bank customers. Now you will not need to keep a minimum balance in your account. Four government banks of the country have taken a big decision for the benefit of the customers.
Now there will be no penalty even if there is no minimum balance in the savings account. These banks include SBI, PNB, Canera Bank and Bandhan Bank. In such a situation, if you have a savings account in any of these banks, then no charge will be taken from you even if there is no minimum balance in the account.
Now there is no need to keep minimum balance in the account
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has issued a statement saying that this decision has been taken keeping the customers in mind. It has also come into effect from July 1. This decision will greatly benefit low-income families, farmers and women. Now even if there is less balance in their account, they can easily enjoy banking services without paying a penalty.
When did the rule apply in Bandhan Bank
At the same time, Bandhan Bank has also abolished the penalty for not maintaining minimum balance. However, this rule of Bandhan Bank will come into effect from July 7.
These banks have already done this work
Let us tell you that SBI had abolished the minimum balance in all savings accounts in the year 2020 itself. Along with this, Canara Bank also abolished the maintenance of average monthly balance in all savings accounts in the month of May this year. These include salary account, regular savings account and MRI savings account.
