Let us tell you that on the Dehradun-Rishikesh highway too, a herd of elephants often comes on the roads, due to which many times the traffic has to be stopped. Many times, passersby also become victims of road accidents due to wildlife. People living in the residential areas near Rajaji National Park were living in fear of wildlife almost every day. On one hand, elephants destroy the standing crops in the fields, while on the other hand animals like leopards and panthers enter the houses and prey on cattle and humans.
