Uttarakhand: Security audit of all school buildings in the state should be done- Chief Minister

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, directed the officials to conduct a security audit of all school buildings in the state. Children should not be made to sit in dilapidated and unsafe school buildings under any circumstances. Any kind of negligence related to the safety of children will not be tolerated. The Chief Minister directed that wherever the school building is repairable, it should be repaired soon and where reconstruction is required, its action plan should be made and implemented promptly.
The Chief Minister has also given instructions to conduct a security audit of all the bridges in the state. He said that the bridges whose condition is deteriorating, their repair and reconstruction work should be done on priority as per the need. It should be ensured that the condition of the bridges is regularly monitored and there is no loss of life due to dilapidated bridges anywhere.
The Chief Minister said that the proceedings of Triyuginarayan and other places of the state which are being developed as wedding destinations should be expedited. This is an important initiative towards promoting tourism and local employment in the state. The Chief Minister directed that special attention should be paid to quality, convenience and cultural dignity in the development of these sites. Also, the wedding policy of other states should also be studied so that an effective and attractive wedding destination policy can be developed in Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister directed that work should be done expeditiously towards developing two Spiritual Economic Zones in the state. He said that this initiative will strengthen religious, cultural and spiritual tourism in the state as well as economic activities. He has directed the concerned departments to work in this direction by making a concrete action plan with mutual coordination.
Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, IG K.S. Nagnyal, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari were present in the meeting.
