Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on Thursday and accused the Election Commission of rigging the elections. Aditya Srivastava, whom Rahul Gandhi had mentioned and claimed to be a voter in four places, spoke to India TV. Aditya has told that he is a resident of Lucknow and lived in Mumbai in 2016.

Aditya shifted from Mumbai to Bengaluru after 2021

During this time, he became a voter of Mumbai and voted in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. After 2021, Aditya shifted from Mumbai to Bengaluru. The biggest thing is that Aditya himself updated his details on the Election Commission website. Aditya said that Rahul Gandhi should not have shared his personal details.

Voter card was transferred to Maharashtra

While talking to India TV, Aditya said that he is originally from Lucknow. When he shifted to Mumbai, he got his voter card transferred to Maharashtra. After this, we shifted to Bengaluru and now he is living here. He said that the number of my voter ID card is the same.

Voting once at a time

Aditya Srivastava said that he has voted at only one place at a time. He said that when I got my voter ID card transferred to another place, I thought the old records would be deleted automatically. It is alleged that Aditya has two voter cards in Mahadeva Pura while one voter card is in Mumbai and one in Lucknow.

UP Election Commission rejects Rahul Gandhi’s claim

Meanwhile, UP Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Thursday rejected the allegations of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi that some voters are registered in both Uttar Pradesh and other states. He termed these allegations as “factually incorrect”. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference in Delhi in which he referred to two persons Aditya Srivastava and Vishal Singh and said that both of them are registered as voters in different states. He claimed that the names of both are included in the voter list of many places including Lucknow and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh as well as constituencies of Mumbai and Bengaluru.
