An interesting incident was witnessed during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the redevelopment project of Maa Janaki temple at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi district of Bihar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were present on the stage when Amit Shah affectionately gestured Nitish Kumar to sit down on the seat by holding his hand. But, CM Nitish Kumar smiled and took his hand back and sat on the chair.

This incident was happening amidst Vedic chanting, when all the guests were present on the stage during the conduct of the program. Amit Shah pulled Nitish’s hand indicating him to sit, but Nitish Kumar took his hand back with a light smile. This scene was captured by the people present there and media cameras. During this time, when CM Nitish Kumar was being applied tilak, he turned his head back.

Historic program in Punaura Dham
The foundation stone of the redevelopment project of Maa Janaki temple was laid in this program organized at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi. The aim is to give this grand temple complex a new identity in the country in terms of tourism, devotion and culture, which is being built at a cost of Rs 882.87 crore. Punauradham is considered to be the birthplace of Sita Mata and there are plans to develop it at the international level.

Apart from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, many Union Ministers, Bihar Government Ministers, MPs, MLAs and a large number of devotees were present on this occasion. Amit Shah also flagged off the Amrit Bharat train from Sitamarhi to Delhi on this occasion.
